In March, 2001 St. Clair Gallery presented its first exhibit of Fine Art Photography. The gallery is located in the offices of Silent J Productions, a graphic design company established in 1995 by Jim Yokajty. In 2001 Silent J Productions had the opportunity to expand the office space of its growing business. With the expansion came the opportunity for Mr. Yokajty to realize a personal dream of opening an art gallery. A long time supporter and advocate of downtown Dayton's renovation and revitalization, Mr. Yokajty recognized the values and benefits that a Fine Arts Gallery would bring to the downtown area.
St. Clair Gallery has taken the opportunity to exhibit the photos of some of the finest local talent in the Dayton area. Exhibits in the gallery are rotated every three months and have included black and white, large format color, unique panoramic, and macro photography. In March 2002, the gallery expanded its focus to present two shows of digital imagery and giclee prints.
Mr. Yokajty is pleased with the success of the gallery. Each exhibit and artist have been well received. Their extraordinary pictures combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the gallery have been enjoyed by all who have visited.
